Gundabad Uruk

Gundabad Uruks are the greatest warriors of the Orc-tribes of the Misty Mountains, far deadlier than the lesser Gundabad Orcs they often lead into battle. While they look like ordinary Orcs at a glance, Gundabad Uruks are larger and have all the strengths of the Uruk-hai, most notably greater tolerance for sunlight. Gundabad Uruks wear Gundabad Uruk armour and wield Gundabad Uruk weapons, which are just as strong as Dwarven armour and weapons, allowing them to deal considerable damage and endure plenty of punishment. As Gundabad's greatest champions, Gundabad Uruks bear the Shield of Filth, painted crudely with the symbol of the Red Eye.

Spawning

Gundabad Uruks spawn by night in the Misty Mountains, Ettenmoors, Coldfells, and Grey Mountains, as well as in Gundabad invasions or biomes that have been conquered by Gundabad. Typically, they spawn in groups, though these groups aren't as large as bands of common Orcs.

Behaviour

Gundabad Uruks will attack any foes of Gundabad, be they players with negative Gundabad alignment or enemy NPCs. When not in combat, they will wander aimlessly like the other Gundabad Orcs.

Equipment

Gundabad Uruks have some of the strongest armour in the game, wearing a full set of Gundabad Uruk armour. They carry heavy weapons that deal equal damage to dwarven weapons, and usually wield shields emblazoned with the eye of Sauron.

Hiring

Gundabad Uruks can be hired from Gundabad Orc Chieftains for 30 silver coins. Your alignment must be at least 350+ with the Gundabad Orcs to hire them.

Strategy

  • They are the strongest Gundabad units, as well as their top-notch armour and weaponry, so be equiped with good gear.
  • Uruk soldiers are almost always accompanied by Uruk archers, so bringing a shield into battle is mandatory.
  • Try to draw them away and fight them one at a time, because many Uruks can overwhelm you, especially with insufficient equipment.

Lore

Gundabad Orcs recieved their name for the sacking of a dwarven mountain fortress named Mount Gundabad during the Second Age.
